We don’t know about you but we are always looking for ways to improve the way we work in terms of productivity and efficiency. And what better time to reflect and prepare to implement small changes than at the end of the year.
Below, we have shared 3 productivity hacks that will help you to hit the ground running in 2019. We are certain that keeping up with these productivity hacks daily will help you take your productivity to a whole new level in 2019.
1.) Master Your Mornings
How we start the day is usually a good indicator of how the rest of the ay will be. Notice how when you get off to a bad start the rest of the day never seems to really go right? Well, that’s because how we start our day has a big impact on our energy and productivity the rest of the day. To have a more powerful 2019, the number one productivity hack should be mastering your mornings. Waking up early and following a specific routine such as, meditation, visualization, and exercise will increase your level of productivity. Also remember to fuel your mind and body with a healthy breakfast and lots of water intake, because after all, health is wealth.
2.) Do Away with Your To-Do List
We highly recommend scheduling tasks on your calendar over to-do lists. Working directly on your calendar helps you better manage time and helps minimize task switching, which is known to be a major productivity killer. To-do list, although helpful in some cases, often times lead you to us feeling overwhelmed because it doesn’t seem to ever get smaller and it then gets trumped by everything else because it is just a list. Scheduling your tasks or to-do’s on your calendar will help you definitely result in a more organized and planned you.
3.) Calendar Block
In today’s digital age where almost anything can be done from our smart phones, it is very easy to get lost in our phone for hours. You know how an alert goes off for an email and then that leads to you searching for something on Facebook and then that leads to you surfing and watching funny videos for an hour? Well you are not alone. We all fall victim to our phones. To avoid this, we encourage you to calendar block specific times for emails and social media engagement. For example, you may have two blocks of time to check email and social media in the morning and then again in the evening. You may want to check your email at 10:00am and then again at 4:00pm for 30 minutes each time, both of these will be blocks on your calendar that prevent any meetings or calls being scheduled during those times. You can do the same for social media browsing, hair appointments, and even alone time. Calendar blocking will kick your productivity up to a whole new level in 2019.
Feeling a little more prepared for 2019? Remember progress is the sum of a series of small changes. So just take it one day at a time. You've got this! Cheers to a more productive 2019.
